|discussion=<p>In the flora area, Penstemon stenophyllus is known from the Huachuca and Patagonia mountains in Cochise and Santa Cruz counties. In Mexico, populations occur primarily along the Sierra Madre Occidental southward to central Durango at elevations to 2300 m.</p>
