Flowers: petals 10 mm wide; stigma not exserted beyond anthers. 2n = 18.


Phenology: Flowering Apr.
Habitat: Grasslands.
Elevation: 500 m.

Discussion

Subspecies calientensis is known only from the vicinity of the type locality in central Kern County and is possibly extinct.
