Stems usually with purple glandular-hairs (at least near summits of young flowering-stems). Basal leaves abaxially gray-tomentose, adaxially green-glabrous.
Phenology: Flowering early–mid spring.
Habitat: Clearings, fields, roadsides, and open woods
Elevation: 0–1500 m

Glabrosity of subsp. parlinii is undoubtedly inherited from Antennaria racemosa (R. J. Bayer 1985b; Bayer and D. J. Crawford 1986).
