Heads in wand-shaped racemiform, paniculiform, or thyrsiform arrays, not secund. Phyllaries not striate, resinous (minute glands present). Pappus bristles usually in 2, rarely in 3 series, (shorter, outer setiform scales rarely present, inner bristles weakly to strongly clavate).
