Stems weakly arching. Leaves: proximal midcauline broadly lanceolate to rhombic, shorter, 5–9 × 1.3–2.4 cm. 2n = 18.


Phenology: Flowering Sep–Oct.
Habitat: Shaded thickets and woods near creeks, wet lowlands
Elevation: 20–200 m

Discussion

Variety zedia occurs in scattered locations across the wet lowlands of the southeastern United States.
