Leaves sessile; blades cuneate, largest 3–14 (–18) × 2–9 (–12) mm. Heads radiate or discoid, 8–11 × 5–7 mm. Phyllary midnerves evident throughout, subapical herbaceous patches usually lacking. Disc-florets 12–33.2n = 18.
Phenology: Flowering late summer–fall.
Habitat: Granitic outcrops
Elevation: 1000–2800 m
