Annuals or perennials. Stems branched mostly beyond mid heights, leafy ± throughout. Leaves: basal blades lanceolate to oblanceolate 1–2.5 (–5) cm wide (lengths 3–5 times widths); cauline blades spatulate, oblanceolate, or broadly linear; margins entire or serrulate; faces scabrous to hirsute. Peduncles to 1/3 plant heights. 2n = 38.


Phenology: Flowering spring–fall.
Habitat: Prairies, meadows, roadsides
Elevation: 10–500 m
