Plants acaulescent or caulescent. Stems, if present, 1–6, aerial or subterranean, shorter than 0.3 m. Leaf margins coarse, curling. Inflorescences arising completely within or extending 1/4 beyond rosettes; peduncle 0.6–0.8 m.


Phenology: Flowering spring–early summer.
Habitat: Rocky slopes, pinyon, oak, and juniper woodlands, grasslands
Elevation: 400–2500 m
