Plants silvery green. Stems 0.5–1 cm, distinctly rounded julaceous. Leaves longer than broad, hyaline in distal 1/3–1/4; costal apiculus long; distal laminal cells elongate-hexagonal, 3–4 (–5):1.


Phenology: Capsules mature Apr–Jul (spring–summer).
Habitat: Soil, soil over rock, crevices, nitrogen enriched sites, disturbed habitats
Elevation: low to high elevations (0-4000m)
