Plants 20–50 cm. Leaves: petioles narrowly winged; blades narrowly obovate, oblanceolate, or spatulate, 1.5–4 cm wide, margins dentate, faces glabrous (glaucous). Heads 3–15. Involucres 7–12 mm. Phyllaries lanceolate, apices attenuate, faces glabrous or slightly tomentose, eglandular. Cypselae golden brown, 3.5–5.5 mm, not beaked; pappi 5–6 mm. 2n = 22


Phenology: Flowering May–Aug.
Habitat: Alkaline, wet or dry meadows
Elevation: 1600–2300 m
