Leaves: blade narrowly ovate to broadly elliptic, proportionately wide (1.3–1.5:1). Inflorescence branches pubescent. Anthers red or pink. Pomes 12–14 mm diam.


Phenology: Flowering May; fruiting Sep–Oct.
Habitat: Brush, field margins, open woodlands
Elevation: 100–300 m

Discussion

Variety gemmosa resembles var. succulenta except for larger fruit size.
