Shrubs, 0.3–2.5 m. Buds alba-type. Leaves: stipules on late ones foliaceous; largest medial blade 3.3–12 times as long as wide, adaxial surface not glaucous. Staminate flowers: filaments glabrous. Pistillate flowers: adaxial nectary shorter to longer than stipe; stipe 0.1–1.2 mm; ovary very densely woolly or tomentose; stigmas with flat, non-papillate abaxial surface and rounded tip, 0.4–0.45–0.52 mm.

Salix krylovii E. L. Wolf is known from Asia.
