Leaf-blades 5–75+ × 3–15 (–20+) mm. Peduncles 5–3+ cm. Phyllaries: keels stramineous and thickened in fruit, abaxial faces scabrellous or glabrate. Cypselae 1.5–2+ mm. 2n = 18.
Phenology: Flowering Jun–Sep.
Habitat: Disturbed sites, sandy soils
Elevation: 10–100 m
