Leaves usually alternate, petiolate or distalmost sessile; blade typically broadest near base, entire or nearly so. Staminate flowers in axillary glomerules. Fruiting bracteoles monomorphic, sessile or short stipitate, broadly cuneate, united to summit, dentate at truncate apex, faces typically smooth. Seeds: radicle superior.
