Stems often puberulent. Leaves: blades 20–60 (–80+) × 3–25 (–35+) mm, lobes lanceolate to linear or filiform, apices apiculate. Phyllaries greenish, faces arachnose to villous. Ray laminae 5–6 (–10) mm. Disc corollas 2–2.5 mm (including spurs). Cypselae 0.8–1.3 mm. 2n = 18 (Europe, Africa).
