Inflorescences: axis erect; buds erect. Flowers: floral-tube obconic, 1.5–4 mm; sepals reflexed together to 1 side; petals pale-pink to dark wine-red, often purple-flecked or marked, obovate, unlobed, claw inconspicuous or absent; stamens 8, subequal. Capsules slender, conspicuously 8-ribbed; sessile or pedicellate.
