Fruit valves hirsute, trichomes simple and unequally 2-rayed, (0.2–) 0.3–1 mm. 2n = 30.
Phenology: Flowering Mar–May.
Habitat: Rocky igneous soil in pine-oak woodlands
Elevation: 1500-2500 m
Discussion
Variety asprella is known only from Coconino and Yavapai counties in central Arizona.
