Leaves 1–4 cm, bases tapered, apices obtuse. Heads 6–8 mm. Phyllaries ± purple, 3–6 mm. Disc corollas 3–5 mm, minutely glandular. Cypselae 2.5–4 mm; pappi 1.5–2.5 mm. 2n = 18.
Phenology: Flowering Jun–Aug.
Habitat: Open forests, dry meadows, gravelly slopes
Elevation: 2100–3800 m
