Thyrses continuous. Flowers: corolla 14–22 mm, limb blue to lavender; pollen-sacs 0.9–1.5 mm. 2n = 16.


Phenology: Flowering Jun–Jul.
Habitat: Rocky sites in pine-juniper and aspen-pine woodlands, shrublands.
Elevation: 1800–3100 m.

Distribution

Idaho, Utah.

Discussion

Variety leonardii has been documented in Bear Lake County, Idaho, and Cache, Davis, Juab, Millard, Morgan, Rich, Salt Lake, Sanpete, Summit, Utah, Wasatch, and Weber counties, Utah.
