Flowers: perianth and androecium perigynous; epicalyx bractlets (1 or) 2 or 3; hypanthium hemispheric; torus absent; carpels 2 (or 3), distinct, free, styles terminal, distinct; ovules 2–4+, nearly apical, pendulous, clustered. Fruits aggregated follicles; styles tardily falling.
