Shrubs, erect, to 2-5 (-10) m. Leaves strongly folded upward along midvein.


Phenology: Flowering summer (Jun–Sep).
Habitat: Rocky or gravelly open slopes, conifer forest, closed cone pines and chaparral
Elevation: 300-1800 m
