Discussion

Of conservation concern.

There are only five confirmed populations of subsp. leedyi: three in southeastern Minnesota and two in western New York. They are restricted to cool seeps in rocks and are threatened by housing developments. Subspecies leedyi was federally listed as threatened in 1997.
