Stems 15–25 cm. Leaf-blades green, not glaucous, linear-oblanceolate, 2–3.5 × 0.3–0.7 cm. Petals yellow, red at apex and on keel. Seeds 1.1–1.9 mm. 2n = 36.
Phenology: Flowering summer.
Habitat: Porphyritic rocks
Elevation: 3300-3600 m
Discussion
Of conservation concern.
Subspecies neomexicana occurs in the Sierra Blanca, Lincoln County.
