Herbs, 15–30 cm. Leaves 3-lobed, sometimes to ca. 2/3 cleft, 4–8 cm wide, surfaces sparsely strigose. Inflorescences 3–7-flowered. Flowers 8–10 mm diam.; hypanthium broadly obconic, 2–3 mm, strigose; petals bright-yellow, narrowly elliptic, 4 mm, barely exceeding sepals, apex subacute; carpels 3 or 4.
Phenology: Flowering Mar–Apr.
Habitat: Moist woods near streams in piedmont
Elevation: 100–500 m

Discussion
Waldsteinia lobata is very similar to W. parviflora except in leaf form.
