Leaves: blade usually obovate, sometimes elliptic to ovate, lengths of larger less than 2 times widths. Inflorescences: racemes (18–) 40–70 (–95) mm. Flowers: hypanthium 1.5–2 mm; sepals 0.7–1 mm; petals (2–) 2.5–4 mm.
Phenology: Flowering Apr–Jun; fruiting Jul–Sep.
Habitat: Stream banks, fencerows, edge of woods, forests, roadsides, hillsides, canyons, thickets
Elevation: 0–2600 m
